Social media wellness trends to leave and those to take in 2024

Wellness and diet culture: When you convince people that they have a problem so you can then sell them on a solution that they probably never needed in the first place.

Honestly some of these wellness trends are downright dangerous.

I see the detrimental effects of one size fits all approaches, biohacking, extreme dieting, random supplementation/ juices, detoxes, hormone balancing trends, preventative aging and cleanses everyday in my practice.

I also get asked all the time “what do you think of this (insert new fad or trend)” and most of the time I say do you really think that is going to be the solution to your healing, do you really think that cold plunge or green juice is going to be the answer to everything? That is what is going to flip the switch and you will magically heal? No. Absolutely not.

I wonder how many people are perishing at the moment because some tik tok or social media influencer told them they should be doing xyz wellness hack.

Y’all are just an experiment and it’s frightening.

In a world where everyone is trying to make nutrition and health complicated choose to simplify. Being healthy is not rocket science.
