Your symptoms are not "just hormonal"

I hate to break it to ya but it’s never “JUST hormonal” and taking some random hormone balancing supplement, getting unnecessary surgeries, hormone replacement therapy, birth control or fancy cream/powder is not going to get to the root of your issues.

Every organ of your digestive system impacts your endocrine system. Your digestive system and hormone function both require lots of nutrients and energy to do their jobs.

Poor digestion inhibits nutrient absorption, that means no nutrients for proper hormone balance and production.

Your gut and endocrine system are always talking to one another.

First, the estrobolome, we have entire microbiome dedicated to regulating estrogen levels. When this system is working well you absorb and excrete the right balance of estrogen.

Digestion starts in the brain and mouth where it sends signals to your digestive organs that it’s time to eat. No digestive juices means poor break down of nutrients to support hormone function.

The stomach is where you further break down food and proteins, if your have low stomach acid you will have poor protein digestion and lack of amino acids for a strong corpus luteum and progesterone production.

The liver, gallbladder, + pancreas produce juices and enzymes to help with estrogen elimination and support blood sugar balance. A burdened liver and poor bile flow will lead to poor fat digestion, poor blood sugar regulation, excess estrogen, high stress, low progesterone, insulin resistance and high androgens.

The small intestine is responsible for absorption of nutrients. A damaged small intestine from poor nutrition, stress and pathogens = poor gut motility, SIBO or leaky gut, full body inflammation and further stress which causes low progesterone and excess estrogen.

The large intestine continues the absorption of water and minerals and gets rid of excess hormones. Pathogens + bad bacteria make home in the intestines = stress. A stressed out body will shut down hormone production. Not pooping everyday? Hello estrogen dominance.

Address the body as a whole. You may not think you have digestive issues but they are likely expressing as what you would say is “just hormonal.”
