Unpopular Truths in Nutrition
How many times has someone told you:
Eliminate carbs, sugar, + dairy they are causing inflammation + insulin resistance!
Get in more veggies! They are so much better for you than meat!
Make sure you are eating enough nuts + seeds to get in your healthy fats + balance your hormones!
Take vitamin D, C and zinc to boost your immune system!
EYEROLL 🙄
What’s really going on…
Glucose (sugar + carbs) is the preferred source of energy for almost every cell in the body. Forcing our body to create sugar on it’s own is downright stressful + should only be a backup process during a time of famine. Forcing the liver to do this takes away from other important things it needs to focus on like ya know, balancing our hormones, keeping our thyroid in check, eliminating toxins, among other important things.
Nuts and seeds are PUFAs that oxidize + become toxic when exposed to heat + oxygen aka the human body, not only that they are estrogenic. Nuts + seeds are the last thing you should be consuming if you are looking to balance your hormones or hell, balance anything at all. They also prevent us from being able to use glucose. You think you can’t handle carbs well? Look at your PUFA intake.
Taking Vitamin D, C, and zinc lead to a deficiencies like Copper which is for more important when it comes to a healthy immune system. Ascorbic acid reduces cerulopasmin that helps your body be able to use copper. Low Vitamin D is most likely a magnesium deficiency.
Dairy is almost never the problem but more so your bodies inability to digest it from poor gut health, quality and type. . A good quality dairy is going to be one of the most nutritious foods you can consume.
Our soils are depleted AF, you will never get all the nutrients you need from plants plain + simple. Leafy greens + cruciferous veggies are intelligent creatures, they don’t want to be eaten so they create anti-nutrients to keep us away from them that harm us + our thyroid. Ditch the raw, eat them well cooked and treat them as a side. Go for root veggies + fruits.
We all have the same cells + physiology that require a steady stream of sugar, balanced minerals, healthy gut + liver + non toxic environment to thrive.
