Could your overburdened liver be causing a hormonal sh*t storm?

The blood that runs through our bodies is much like the rivers that nourish the earth. Those rivers run clean and they feed and nourish the earth as they pass through. Rivers that run through cities become sluggish and thick with chemicals, toxins and waste. The water that was once life giving becomes loaded down down with toxins. Similar to the human body today.

By strengthening the liver you improve the quality of the blood stream which is the source of physical nourishment for our internal environment and creates a radiant and vital ecological system.

The largest and most metabolically diversified organ is the liver as it performs more functions than any other organ in the body.

It used to be called “the seat of life” and in TCM the liver is considered the house of soul and is responsible for the flow of energy.

The word liver is derived from the Anglo Saxon verb meaning “to live.”

You simply can not live a full, symptom-free life without a healthy liver.

Unfortunately, our livers today are heavily taxed due to our toxic environment and we need to give them a little extra TLC on the daily.

It is no surprise that almost every client I run labs on in my practice struggling with “hormonal symptoms” has an overburdened liver.

The thing is, if your liver is overburdened expect your thyroid, digestive system, blood sugar, skin, and entire body to suffer.

Don’t forget there are many other detox systems and organs that need to be supported: cardiovascular, lymph, digestion, urinary, skin, and respiratory but the liver sure is MVP!

Some other ways to support your liver nutritionally:
- mineral and vitamin rich foods like beef liver, egg yolks, saturated fats, raw dairy, roots, fruits, and grass-fed beef
- get enough protein everyday
- raw carrots
- chlorophyll
- castor oil packs
- sleep 8 hours a night
- dry brushing
- walk 10k steps a day
- sauna and sun
- gelatin gummies

And girl, EAT THE CARBS! Your liver depends on them!
