The new online trend: “Hot girls have the worst stomach issues” Let’s talk about it…

We have all seen the new trend all over Tik Tok and social media.

I appreciate the recognition that people are struggling with digestive issues but this ain’t it.

Did their “hot girl” behaviors get them to this place?

Waking up bright and early to drink your black coffee, get in a fasted HIIT workout followed with a green smoothie with almond butter, dairy free milk and pea protein powder.

Lunch is a kale salad with nuts and seeds and a lean protein source.

Snack is a high fiber protein bar and green juice.

Dinner is a lean protein source with greens and cauliflower rice.

Ya know. Just doing hot girl shit. But actually dying inside.

I have an upset stomach just reading this meal plan and this has unfortunately become the new norm for “healthy” eating for the stereotypical desirable figure.

If you were a bird this sounds great but you are a grown ass woman that requires nutrients from easy to digest sources.

It’s no surprise that 98% of those diagnosed with an eating disorder are diagnosed with a Functional GI Disorder.

I remember I once used my “healthy” restrictive diet to get rid of digestive symptoms as a disguise for my disordered eating, food fear, and weight loss attempts.

Rather than popping pepto and tums 🥴eliminating foods and going on restrictive diets void of nutrients for the sake of your digestive system get to the root of the problem and evaluate what started the digestive issues in the first place.

– poor childhood diet
– under-eating
– over-exercising
– stress and nervous system dysregulation
– sluggish metabolism
– nutrient and mineral deficiencies
– estrogen and iron
– poor sleep
– how you eat + prep foods
– blood sugar regulation
– etc…

Man-Made BS vs. Biological Needs

Let’s have a chat. K?

Does it make sense to pump our bodies with synthetic hormones all month to prevent pregnancy when we can only get pregnant a few days of the month?

Does it make sense to consume industrial oils, nut + oat milk instead of quality dairy + animal fats that we have been consuming since the dawn of time?

Do you think your body is asking to starve itself for your fast?

Do you think your body is craving cauliflower rice + fake meats, tofu, pea protein?

Do you think your tits want to be squeezed all day to restrict lymph flow + sit in a toxic laden bra? Your feet in it’s trendy shoe?

Do you think it makes sense to go in a grocery store and be able to eat the same foods all year round? Food has a season.

Do you think you need to give your newborn baby synthetic vitamin D drops when breastmilk has NEVER naturally contained vitamin D?

Do you think toxic sunscreen is healthier than exposing your body to the sun? We have been exposed to the sun since our existence as humans.

Do you think you can supplement your way out of not eating for your physiology?

Do you think depriving your body of sugar + carbs, your body’s main fuel source, makes sense?

Do you think spending all day in front of screens, under artificial light is okay?

No.

I remember my mother would never let me leave the house without a bra on. She said only “hippies” do that. The same story goes for natural grocery stores or walking barefoot and wearing barefoot shoes or rather being in nature without service.

Being criticized for ordering coffee with real milk, drinking orange juice or choosing the real burger, rice or steak.

We are “weak” for being hungry in the morning.

Rather than understanding how our cycle works we would rather go on birth control.

These things have become societal norms.

Demonizing periods, milk, meat, the sun, carbs, sugar, naked boobies, walking barefoot.

Praising fake meat, electronics, toxic sunscreen, starving ourselves, birth control, milk + carb “alternatives”

We are blaming the very things our bodies have always needed on modern problems.

DIGESTION: The missing piece to your hormone healing journey

The number one biggest thing I hear women say when they are struggling with their health is “it’s just hormonal.”

I hate to break it to ya but it’s never JUST hormonal and taking some random hormone balancing supplement, getting unnecessary surgeries, hormone replacement therapy, birth control or fancy cream/powder is not going to get to the root of your issues.

You see. Your digestion and hormones have a very intimate connection. I am not just talking sex hormones but every hormone in your body especially your thyroid and stress hormones will also be severely impacted by poor digestion.

And here’s the deal we ALL have wrecked digestive systems.

Due to most of us growing up never learning how or what to eat and consuming an abundance of processed packaged garbage, poor quality fats, antibiotics or medications, being overloaded in estrogen and iron laden foods, and toxins. Add in all the stress, trauma, under-eating and diets we have endured throughout our lives from childhood to adulthood.

And then switching to a “healthier” lifestyle filled with plant-based man-made foods, raw salads and vegetables, loads of nuts and seeds and PUFAs we are now seeing our digestive systems in even worse places.

We have never gotten the nutrients, minerals, quality fat, carbs and protein we need to thrive.

When it comes to hormone health its all about energy and bringing down as much stress as possible in your system. Where do we get that from? The minerals and nutrients from the food we consume and a well functioning digestive system that is not under stress and has the ability to absorb nutrients and deliver.

We need to be addressing the body as a whole. You may not think you have digestive issues but they are likely expressing as what you would say is “just hormonal.”

Contrary to popular belief, this body is not healthier than this body

Anyone else sick of it?

These insanely unattainable made up body standards?

We are constantly being bombarded with the next new diet, shake or cleanse that will help you lose weight, clear your skin, get rid of cellulite and fix whatever society tells us needs to be fixing.

We are told that our happiness and health depends on how our bodies look.

What if there was nothing to fix or change?

What if your body was never actually the problem but your perception is.

I get it. At a young age we are told that the most important thing about us as women is the way we look and our worth depends on it.

This line of work has been a blessing. I have worked with women of all shapes and sizes. Each and every one of them have the same goal regardless of their size, to lose weight or they are living in fear of gaining weight. What does that tell you?

These diets, cleanses, supplements, workout programs come with consequences and are short term solutions.

If we focused more on the way our bodies functioned over how they looked can you imagine how our world and our health would change?

Your body is always evolving, adapting and changing. End the war with your body now before you look back in 20 years and wished you didn’t waste it on obsessing over weight and way you look.

Losing weight or changing your body won’t change your life or make you happier. It’s hardwired into us, you will just find another thing you don’t like to obsess over.

Value your body for its function.

I don’t know about you but I’d rather not waste years of my life worried about weight. I’d rather be a strong well-fed, TRULY healthy, happy woman living my best life and not hiding my symptoms behind an under-nourished six pack, plastic surgery and acutane.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. There’s always a plot twist. Lets change the narrative.

You Need to Truly Feel to Heal

Do you ever wonder why there are women out there that can drink a bottle of wine every night, smoke cigarettes, eat whatever they want and never exercise a day in their life but will live and thrive until they are hundred years old?

And you are over there drinking green drinks and kombucha at parties, eating a snack you brought rather than what they provide and taking 1,000 supplements, and ditching nights out with friends because your body is so sensitive/ reactive to everything and you tell yourself it’s for #health.

I dunno about you but I prefer the wine drinking thriving old woman than the cautious cathy.

You see the thoughts that we create about our health, our lives, our self-worth, and emotional baggage is really what is keeping us from health.

Emotional freedom is the real preventative medicine.

Every emotion creates a specific biochemical reality in our bodies. The more we tell ourselves something the more we believe it.

The belief then becomes part of our biology.

Psychological and emotional factors influence our physical health greatly because our emotions and thoughts are always accompanied by biochemical reactions in our bodies. These reactions are mediated by cell membranes, which are the actual “brains” of each cell.

When we have unresolved emotional stress, this stress registers in our energy field as a disturbance that can manifest as physical illness.

Self destructive thoughts/ behaviors > divert energy away from the cells > vital cellular processes then become depleted > we then leak energy in which our anger, fear, depression, or sadness controls our lives and ability to move forward in our lives > creating illness and disease.

Unresolved emotions rob your body of energy needed to heal.

Your body is self-healing. You just have to believe it and trust it.
