You Need to Truly Feel to Heal

Do you ever wonder why there are women out there that can drink a bottle of wine every night, smoke cigarettes, eat whatever they want and never exercise a day in their life but will live and thrive until they are hundred years old?

And you are over there drinking green drinks and kombucha at parties, eating a snack you brought rather than what they provide and taking 1,000 supplements, and ditching nights out with friends because your body is so sensitive/ reactive to everything and you tell yourself it’s for #health.

I dunno about you but I prefer the wine drinking thriving old woman than the cautious cathy.

You see the thoughts that we create about our health, our lives, our self-worth, and emotional baggage is really what is keeping us from health.

Emotional freedom is the real preventative medicine.

Every emotion creates a specific biochemical reality in our bodies. The more we tell ourselves something the more we believe it.

The belief then becomes part of our biology.

Psychological and emotional factors influence our physical health greatly because our emotions and thoughts are always accompanied by biochemical reactions in our bodies. These reactions are mediated by cell membranes, which are the actual “brains” of each cell.

When we have unresolved emotional stress, this stress registers in our energy field as a disturbance that can manifest as physical illness.

Self destructive thoughts/ behaviors > divert energy away from the cells > vital cellular processes then become depleted > we then leak energy in which our anger, fear, depression, or sadness controls our lives and ability to move forward in our lives > creating illness and disease.

Unresolved emotions rob your body of energy needed to heal.

Your body is self-healing. You just have to believe it and trust it.

What You Think You Need To Detox Vs What You Actually Need To Detox

Before someone tells you “oh girl you just need to detox” you tell them to hold their horses!

You have a whole lot more work that needs to be done before you stress out your body with some trendy cleanse or diet. I don’t give a fuck how many testimonials there are.

I see so many people with zero energy, in a super depleted state being advised to detox whether that is cleansing, supplementing, fasting or some special diet.

EXCUSE ME? Let’s really think about that. Do you really think some aggressive detox is going to be the answer to your prayers without addressing any foundational work?

I will tell you right now some single metal, parasite or toxin is not the root to all your symptoms.

The real question to ask is.

HOW DID IT GET IN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Your undernourished, mineral depleted, stressed out body of course.

How can you possibly expect your body to take care of heavy metals, parasites, chemicals, toxins, or whatever else is in there when you are not giving it the energy it needs to do so?

Fasting and cleanses, depriving your body of vital nutrients and energy for the sake of detoxing? Give me a break!

You need energy, lots of energy for your body to be able to detox and heal in the first place.

Focus on building up your system not breaking it down.

Your body is intelligent and knows exactly how to heal and how to detox on it’s own as long as it has the nourishment it needs to do so. Forcing metals and toxins out of the body is unnatural and not necessary. Your body has it’s own order of healing. Trust it.

It always comes back to the foundations. Nourishment with a traditional diet, mineral balancing, blood sugar balancing, digestion, stress, sleep and toxin elimination from your environment.

In my opinion the only shit you need to be detoxing from is your toxic habits, toxic people, and toxic environment.

The Health Benefits Of Sugar

Alright ladies. Let’s set this straight. Sugar is not evil. Back in the 1950’s sugar was being blamed for all types of disease including cancer, heart disease, high cholesterol, and diabetes. Interestingly enough this was around the time that saturated fats were being demonized and vegetable oils were being promoted. How is that sugar, the primary fuel source for our body could be the culprit of these metabolic disease when our metabolism relies on it? Fishy huh? It was never sugar all along but PUFAs. Once looking deeper and understanding the bodies response to stress the conclusion is that sugar is actually pro-metabolic, pro-thyroid, anti-stress, hormone balancing, anti-aging, liver and digestive supporting. Especially in today’s overly stressed world. Our physiology as women requires sugar and carbohydrates without out it our bodies as a whole will suffer. Stop refusing to give your body it’s PRIMARY FUEL SOURCE because you heard keto, a sugar detox or low carb works, works for what may I ask? Some weight loss? Until it doesn’t. Check in with your health markers (temps, pulses, periods, digestion, moods) and no i’m not talking about the temporary high/ denial you get from eating low carb and having your jeans fit a little better. Repeat after me. You are not a sugar addict. You are depriving your body of the very thing it needs to survive, consuming the wrong sugars, not combing meals appropriately or timing them well. Nutrients/Support Needed On A Plant Based Diet

It’s no secret that a plant- based diet is filled with anti-nutrients, heavy metals, estrogens, and high in PUFAs. Plants are also not nearly as bio-available as a traditional animal-based seasonal diet. Throw in the highly processed plant-based meat/dairy alternatives and you have yourself a malnourished, toxic shit storm. It is also no secret that humans on a plant-based diet end up with anxiety, depression, acne, increased aging, digestive issues, hormonal probs due to all the nutrient deficiencies and imbalances it creates. I see it everyday in my practice. Humans were designed to eat seasonally the way nature intended. The idea that we would consume plants all year long is due to modern availability. And shocker but most plants and cruciferous vegetables are man-made, nature never intended for you to eat them in abundance in the first place. Guess what is available all year long in all areas of the world? Animal derived foods like meat, dairy, and eggs. Fruits and vegetables should be eaten seasonally. Why? Because this is how nature intended for us to eat. Animals have different stomaches to break down toxins and absorb nutrients from plants so we don’t have to. We live in a highly influenced world were people only have the desire to be thin and everyone just wants to be something, they want to be seen, they want to have a label, and sometimes that involves a diet label – these desires are interfering with our physiology as humans. But Laura, I feel so good on a plant based diet (a girl covered in acne, anxiety ridden, bloated, a slave to her digestive system and missing her period) Keep in mind there is a big difference between fat loss, muscle loss and your body eating itself + artificially suppressing symptoms. People think plant-based diets “saved them”, keep telling yourself that, hit me up in a few years. Eating should be simple, intuitive and traditional as it always was before diets and the industrial revolution decided to fuck things up. It shouldn’t take a scientist to turn plants into things they were never intended to be. Stop fighting your physiology and eat according to nature.

Health And Fitness Words And Phrases to Ditch

✓ Negative self-talk ✓ Disordered thoughts around food ✓ Glorified eating disorders ✓ Restriction ✓ Shame and guilt That is all these words and phrases are promoting. Talking poorly to yourself and about food creates unnecessary chronic stress, lowers self-esteem, feeds anxiety and depression, creates digestive distress, and has a massive impact on your overall health. No matter how hard you try to “eat clean” or be “good”, if you are constantly talking shit to yourself you will not be successful in your health goals.
