What Doctors Tell You About Hormone Balance Vs What You Should Actually Do

Period problems? PMS? PCOS? Endometriosis? Acne? Weight gain? Mood swings? Fatigue? Sore breasts? Night sweats? Low libido? Anxiety/ depression? Migraines?

Let’s just put you on birth control, spironolactone, and metformin (the basic bitch package for hormonal health).

Not into that? You head to a holistic doc.

You are told to take DIM, Zinc, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, eat high fiber, low carb and load up on the cruciferous vegetables. You are told to eliminate dairy, meat and saturated fat, watch the salt and eat more PUFA! Start seed cycling and let’s also start you on a HRT cream from a compound pharmacy, why not, it’s natural and bioidentical, no harm right?

WHAT DA?! 🤯Now we are talking about the alternative health basic bitch package.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, your hormonal issues are not hormonal at all.

Absolutely none of these recommendations gets to the root cause of your hormonal issues.

Seed cycling, nuts and seeds? Talk about a rancid, estrogenic, toxic, shit storm.
DIM and cruciferous vegetables let’s destroy our thyroid and metabolism while we are at it.

Low carb, high fiber? Why are carbs a problem in the first place and fiber? Gut irritation station.

More exercise? Let’s just add to that stress bucket that got you here in the first place.

Zinc, Vitamin D, Vitamin C? Sure let’s just create more mineral imbalances.

HRT? Hormones work in balance with one another and can work against each other.

So what to actually do?

Eat a traditional diet that supports your physiology. This includes eating seasonal – root vegetables and tubers, fruit, honey, grass-fed/ pasture-raised meats (nose to tail), eggs, dairy and wild caught fish.

Address mineral and nutrient imbalances.

You will never heal hormones without addressing digestion and detox. I don’t care if you have zero digestive issues.

Balance your blood sugar, the #1 thing you can do. Eat every 3-4 hours. Combine carb, protein and fat.

You can be doing all of the above but if you hate your life, sleep like shit, have no joy, stressed out, over-exercising or under-eating you simply will not get your hormones in check.

Put in the work girlfriend, it will be worth it!

Plant Based Diets Were Never About You Health

The videos of women on plant-based diets bragging about not getting their periods. Some even claiming that we as women don’t need periods.

WHAT DA FUCK.

Keep telling yourself that you are some spiritual being from another planet that can’t handle meat and animal products or that killing an animal doesn’t work with your “spiritual vibration” and you require light foods.

Nah girl. Your digestion just sucks.

We all have the same cells that require the same nutrients from a variety of traditional foods, proteins, carbs and fats.

Stop fighting your bodies own innate wisdom and nutritional needs as a human being for some false belief that you will save the planet, need to be smaller and eat less.

Eating nose to tail has been something we have been doing since the dawn of time. These foods are sacred and contain an abundance of easy to digest nutrients that the body requires to thrive, is required for fertility, reproduction and ensures the womb supplies ample nutrition to the growing baby.

Meat eating has always symbolizes strength, intelligence (a bigger brain) and good health for men and women.

The plant-based problem:

An increase in cruciferous vegetables, nuts and seeds, legumes, soy, processed nut milks, processed dairy, butter and meat alternatives, containing…

Anti-nutrients
PUFAs
Synthetic vitamins
Estrogens
Poor digestibility
Anti-thyroid
Poor protein sources
Disordered eating habits
Nutrient and mineral deficiencies

This post is in no means saying there does not need to be work done on the agricultural front or that we don’t need to put in the effort to help the planet out.

Our cells require a lot of energy. Energy from a variety of foods. You simply will not get that from a plant-based diet or worse what will eventually be a man-made fake food factory farm.

Health And Fitness Words And Phrases to Ditch

✓ Negative self-talk ✓ Disordered thoughts around food ✓ Glorified eating disorders ✓ Restriction ✓ Shame and guilt That is all these words and phrases are promoting. Talking poorly to yourself and about food creates unnecessary chronic stress, lowers self-esteem, feeds anxiety and depression, creates digestive distress, and has a massive impact on your overall health. No matter how hard you try to “eat clean” or be “good”, if you are constantly talking shit to yourself you will not be successful in your health goals. Rather than using any of these words, unlearn, reframe and switch to: “What will nourish my mind and body best right now?”

The Basic Bitch Starter Pack To Destroying Your Health

I get it. I was once on the basic bitch starter pack too. You’ve made the switch from the processed junk food we all grew up on to a “healthy” diet and lifestyle. The diet and lifestyle that everyone and their mother wants to sell you on through MLMs and social media with no knowledge of how the woman’s body ACTUALLY works. I am all for making healthy changes but girl we have gotten so lost. We have no idea what it means to be healthy anymore. All of a sudden you end up plant based, gluten free, dairy free and eating all the “alternatives,”you are fasting, getting in a HIIT workout, doing all the plant based protein shakes, eating all the salads, drinking your morning matcha with nut milk, juicing in the morning, using essential oils for everything under the sun, taking your vitamins, swapping out rice and potatoes for cauliflower everything… You are the VISION of health, am I right? Wrong. Let’s take a look at what some of these “health” fads are actually doing to your body overtime. That is if you can actually keep up with them before ending up hormonally and digestively compromised and in a worse place than where you began. Plant based foods and meats, nuts, seeds, nut milks, essential oils, pea protein powder, smoothies, salads, juicing and cauliflower have anti-nutrients, PUFAs, heavy metals, irritating to your gut, impacting your thyroid function, are estrogenic and low bioavailable nutrients. Essential oils, talk about the greatest modern experiment of man-kind. Yikes! Beachbody. Have you ever looked at the ingredients in that shit? The disordered eating that comes out of that program. Enough said. Diets do not work for our physiology and require restriction in some way. Fasting + HIIT, sure let’s stress out our bodies even more, force it into starvation mode and throw in a super demanding workout. The supplements 👆🏻can we get any more synthetic and unnecessary? I guess if the goal is to create a severe mineral imbalance then that’s the way to go! Eat and move in a way that nature intended with traditional, nutrient-dense foods that give you energy and bring down stress. Real food and a healthy life does not require innovations.

What Do Your Hormone Lab Results Mean?

“Laura, I was told I have low progesterone and high estrogen but the supplements and cream didn’t work” “I have high testosterone!
