The new online trend: “Hot girls have the worst stomach issues” Let’s talk about it…

We have all seen the new trend all over Tik Tok and social media.

I appreciate the recognition that people are struggling with digestive issues but this ain’t it.

Did their “hot girl” behaviors get them to this place?

Waking up bright and early to drink your black coffee, get in a fasted HIIT workout followed with a green smoothie with almond butter, dairy free milk and pea protein powder.

Lunch is a kale salad with nuts and seeds and a lean protein source.

Snack is a high fiber protein bar and green juice.

Dinner is a lean protein source with greens and cauliflower rice.

Ya know. Just doing hot girl shit. But actually dying inside.

I have an upset stomach just reading this meal plan and this has unfortunately become the new norm for “healthy” eating for the stereotypical desirable figure.

If you were a bird this sounds great but you are a grown ass woman that requires nutrients from easy to digest sources.

It’s no surprise that 98% of those diagnosed with an eating disorder are diagnosed with a Functional GI Disorder.

I remember I once used my “healthy” restrictive diet to get rid of digestive symptoms as a disguise for my disordered eating, food fear, and weight loss attempts.

Rather than popping pepto and tums 🥴eliminating foods and going on restrictive diets void of nutrients for the sake of your digestive system get to the root of the problem and evaluate what started the digestive issues in the first place.

– poor childhood diet
– under-eating
– over-exercising
– stress and nervous system dysregulation
– sluggish metabolism
– nutrient and mineral deficiencies
– estrogen and iron
– poor sleep
– how you eat + prep foods
– blood sugar regulation
– etc…

What You Think You Need To Detox Vs What You Actually Need To Detox

Before someone tells you “oh girl you just need to detox” you tell them to hold their horses!

You have a whole lot more work that needs to be done before you stress out your body with some trendy cleanse or diet. I don’t give a fuck how many testimonials there are.

I see so many people with zero energy, in a super depleted state being advised to detox whether that is cleansing, supplementing, fasting or some special diet.

EXCUSE ME? Let’s really think about that. Do you really think some aggressive detox is going to be the answer to your prayers without addressing any foundational work?

I will tell you right now some single metal, parasite or toxin is not the root to all your symptoms.

The real question to ask is.

HOW DID IT GET IN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Your undernourished, mineral depleted, stressed out body of course.

How can you possibly expect your body to take care of heavy metals, parasites, chemicals, toxins, or whatever else is in there when you are not giving it the energy it needs to do so?

Fasting and cleanses, depriving your body of vital nutrients and energy for the sake of detoxing? Give me a break!

You need energy, lots of energy for your body to be able to detox and heal in the first place.

Focus on building up your system not breaking it down.

Your body is intelligent and knows exactly how to heal and how to detox on it’s own as long as it has the nourishment it needs to do so. Forcing metals and toxins out of the body is unnatural and not necessary. Your body has it’s own order of healing. Trust it.

It always comes back to the foundations. Nourishment with a traditional diet, mineral balancing, blood sugar balancing, digestion, stress, sleep and toxin elimination from your environment.

In my opinion the only shit you need to be detoxing from is your toxic habits, toxic people, and toxic environment.

Has Diet Culture Wrecked Your Gut?

Diet culture. When eating a traditional, nutritionally supportive diet goes out the window and all that matters is whatever the next trendy physique is in style. Whatever the next most profitable and trendy way of eating is that will give you false promises that you will reach your health and weight loss goals. Restrictive diets. Low carb. Fasting. Only eating if you deserve it. Food is the enemy. Excessive exercise. Cheat days. Skinny teas. Appetite suppressants. Detoxes No pain, no gain. 1200 calorie diets. Glorified eating disorders. You know the drill. We have gone from “heroin chic” being in style in the 90’s, zero curves and being malnourished AF to now being obsessed with big booties and six packs. Not to mention all the other fad physiques in between these 2 eras. It’s one big mind fuck. Let’s see what’s in style in a few years that we can all strive to be. 🙄 One thing I know for sure. Diet culture is ruining our health, our metabolism and our digestive system. It is putting us in a chronic stressed out state. What does our digestion require to run optimally? Lots and lots of nutrients AND a robust well functioning metabolism. Funny how dieting actually down regulates and destroys our metabolisms huh? Talk about false promises. One thing I know for sure is I will never look like Megan Fox or whoever the hell the world idolizes as a vision of beauty. And you know what, that is okay. I am not willing to starve myself, live a boring life and have my health go to shit to strive to be something I am not and neither should you. We all have false expectations of what our bodies should look like. Look at your family, look at your genetics. Let’s be realistic here. Look at other markers to determine health. Weight, restriction, ability to workout excessively and your will to not eat does not say anything about your bodies overall health. I dunno about you but I’d rather have a bangin’ digestive system than a bangin’ body. Nourishment always wins.

Friends Don’t Let Friends Go Low Carb

Tis the season for sugar detoxes, low carb diets, whole 30’s, paleo, keto, carnivore, intermittent fasting and everything in between. You’re having a hard time losing weight, you notice carbs don’t make me feel well or you have some symptoms you are trying to fix so hey why not do a reset! Maybe you try low carb, dabble with fasting or go hardcore keto or carnivore. You only want to reset your body and do it for a few months until a few months turns into a year because you try to come off said diet and you are gaining weight like a MOFO because you are more insulin resistant than ever before. Here’s the deal. These diets are not quick fixes and come with consequences. You are only getting temporary relief from a problem that needs to be dealt with. The problem that needed to be dealt with? Your bodies inability to use glucose (sugar) as fuel in the first place due to an under functioning metabolism from mineral deficiencies, stress, under-eating, and under-nourishing your body. Our bodies, our cells prefer to run on glucose and it will do anything it can to make that happen. If you take glucose away this causes your stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline to rise and use its backup system to turn non-carbohydrate sources into glucose, this is a system that should only be used during a famine. Burning fatty acids instead of glucose causes insulin resistance. Sure you may have initial weight loss but that weight loss is actually the shedding of super important minerals like magnesium, sodium and potassium, water and muscle. Muscle requires a lot of fuel and energy. You end up with lowered muscle mass and more fat than you had started with. On top of that your metabolism is destroyed, your hormones suck, your thyroid and adrenals suffer from all the stress and you end up more mineral deficient than you were before, the minerals you needed in the first place that was preventing you from being able to use glucose appropriately. Nourish your body with real food.These diets are destroying you mentally and physically. The next time you want to jump on that low carb bandwagon address what got you there in the first place. Check yo’self before yo’ wreck yo’self

Basic Bitch Health Drinks That May Not be So “Healthy”

Who here feels personally victimized by the diet industry? Influencers? Marketers? Ya. Me too. Let’s stick with the “basic bitch” theme shall we? A basic bitch is most likely a toxic bitch and also a REAL good marketer. Throw any good looking chick in front of the screen claiming something healed their skin, their hair, or they lost weight and you bet your ass you will be throwing money at them to buy these products. I mean, hell these marketers are smart! They understand the way the human brain works and that most of our drivers come from wanting to look a certain way or comparing ourselves to others. This highly filtered, fake world makes us believe these people are healthy and have it all and we need exactly what they have. They are just profiting off our insecurities. The fact that most of us don’t feel well or are looking to lose weight is also another driver. Honestly, when I felt at my worst I would have given my left tit to feel better. TAKE ALL MY MONEY. I WANT TO BE YOU. I’l tell you right now, a shake, a supplement, some fancy drink will not help you lose weight or feel better. You see, REAL food does not need marketing. REAL food from nature that our body recognizes, is bioavailable and can use as nourishment doesn’t need to be sold or marketed. We have just gotten so lost with conveniences of modern day living and social media influence that we are no longer listening to what our body truly needs. In reality these drinks are just filled with broken promises, no ingredient transparency, and you are just left with an empty wallet because damn girl, this shit is expensive! And a scam. We are all being played. I’ve said it before and I’l say it again, you don’t need modern inventions to be healthy. Real nourishment and health does not need marketing. Don’t fall victim to these nutrition fads!
