Plant Based Diets Were Never About You Health

The videos of women on plant-based diets bragging about not getting their periods. Some even claiming that we as women don’t need periods.

WHAT DA FUCK.

Keep telling yourself that you are some spiritual being from another planet that can’t handle meat and animal products or that killing an animal doesn’t work with your “spiritual vibration” and you require light foods.

Nah girl. Your digestion just sucks.

We all have the same cells that require the same nutrients from a variety of traditional foods, proteins, carbs and fats.

Stop fighting your bodies own innate wisdom and nutritional needs as a human being for some false belief that you will save the planet, need to be smaller and eat less.

Eating nose to tail has been something we have been doing since the dawn of time. These foods are sacred and contain an abundance of easy to digest nutrients that the body requires to thrive, is required for fertility, reproduction and ensures the womb supplies ample nutrition to the growing baby.

Meat eating has always symbolizes strength, intelligence (a bigger brain) and good health for men and women.

The plant-based problem:

An increase in cruciferous vegetables, nuts and seeds, legumes, soy, processed nut milks, processed dairy, butter and meat alternatives, containing…

Anti-nutrients
PUFAs
Synthetic vitamins
Estrogens
Poor digestibility
Anti-thyroid
Poor protein sources
Disordered eating habits
Nutrient and mineral deficiencies

This post is in no means saying there does not need to be work done on the agricultural front or that we don’t need to put in the effort to help the planet out.

Our cells require a lot of energy. Energy from a variety of foods. You simply will not get that from a plant-based diet or worse what will eventually be a man-made fake food factory farm.

The Dangers of Soy, Flax, and Plant Estrogens

The medical industry can skew any study, review, or research depending on what their intention is and what will be the most profitable.

The saddest part.

We are all being played.

How many times have you heard that soy + flax are fantastic for your hormones?

I’l never forget the day I walked into the ND office riddled with estrogen symptoms and was told to add more soy and cruciferous vegetables and seed cycle with flax, as well as take DIM supplement. After I had already been on the birth control pill for 12 years. Holistic healthcare can be dangerous.

Here’s the deal. We live is a highly estrogenic world. We are all ridden with estrogen and most of our hormonal problems come back to an imbalance between estrogen and progesterone.

If you were vegan, fed soy milk or formula as a baby, seed cycled for “hormone balance” took birth control pills or bio-identical estrogen, added flax to your smoothies, took DIM supplements, and ate all the plant estrogens this is not to scare you!

You know better you do better. First step. Knock it off.

Next step. Evaluate your estrogen burden.

That includes the phytoestrogens above as well as those found in skincare, makeup, tap water, plastics, cooking utensils, cleaning supplies, etc…

Third step. Eat a metabolically supporting diet that works for YOUR physiology, address mineral imbalances and get your gut in check.

Girlfriend, you are smarter than this.

Stop being fooled into thinking this garbage will balance your hormones. Your body knows best, really truly listen to it. I can guarantee it’s not jumping for joy every time you give it that man made soy milk or vegan burger and that flax seed waste product.

Your breasts don’t lie. Dr. Hobbins spent his career studying the impacts of these such things on breast health using thermographs.

Everything You Have Been Told About Health Fitness Nutrition + Weight Loss Is A Lie

WORK WITH YOUR BODY. NOT AGAINST IT. I’l say it over and over again but diets don’t work. Those supplements, meds, diets, workouts, mainstream nutrition advice, yup it’s all advice based on studies and trials done on men. And we wonder why our hormones are so f’d up? Even women’s hormone replacement therapy studies have been done on men. Say what? Studies and research are bullshit, especially when it comes to women’s health and wellness. This is why I am here, I am paving the way through client studies, my own research and knowledge. And you know what I know for sure? Women need to nourish their bodies with the most nutrient- dense foods possible, every 3-4 hours. Women need to focus on REAL FOOD traditional nutrition and stop falling for every fad and supplement recommendation from “mainstream nutrition gurus.” Women need to limit stressors and quit the 9-5 grind. Women need to set boundaries and stop doing so much (or being expected to do so much.) Women need to stop dieting and restricting calories and food groups. Women need to stop eating the same foods and doing the same HIIT workout every day of the month Women need to start adapting their fitness, work, habits, and diet into our cycles. We need to tailor and design our lives in a way that supports us, not fights against us. Stop fighting your bodies innate physiological needs. We are cyclical creatures and we need to start honoring that. Knowledge is power.

Is Your Cell Phone Making You Fat

You wake up and the first thing you do is start scrolling and before you know it time has gone by and your morning routine or workout plans are out the window. Hell, you can’t even go pee mid day without bringing it with you to scroll for those .2 seconds. You cook dinner and scroll. You spend the whole rest of your night scrolling, ditching any plans you had to read, stretch, walk, or be present with family. You get into bed and scroll. And you wake up just to do it all over again. It all comes back to cortisol baby! Not only is social media creating false beliefs that you need to lose weight due to its unrealistic filters and highlight reels creating negative thoughts about your body. These constant thoughts of being unworthy are stressful. But then let’s add some fuel to the already stressed out fire with those EMF’s and constant blue light exposure (that clearly were not created with our physiology in mind) and we have ourselves a wildfire. Cortisol is released when you’re under stress. This sends your body into fight-or-flight mode, temporarily pausing regular bodily functions and slowing your metabolism. While this hormone is essential to survival, it can become harmful in excess amounts. “Laura, I’m doing all the right things but I can’t lose weight.” Says the woman that is up on her cell phone and lap top all hours of the night or can’t get her shit together because her phone is impeding on routines and habits. “I have to be up, it’s the only time I have for myself, is there a supplement I can take to help with the stress hormones?” No. I don’t care if you are wearing 3 pairs of blue blockers and taking stress reducing adaptogens. You are not addressing the problem in the first place. Blue light blockers don’t give you permission. Evaluate do you really need to lose weight or are you running into the comparison trap on social media. I can guarantee its the latter. Take away social media for 30 days, a week, or just unfollow those people that are making you feel less than and see how much your life, health and thoughts around your weight change. Perhaps losing weight has everything to do with false expectations, influence + habits.

What I used To Care About VS. What I Care About Now

“I’l be happy when I lose these extra pounds.” “My life will be better when I lose weight.” “I will finally feel good when I shed these 20 lbs.” I hate to be the bearer of bad news but stop fooling yourself. You know damn well this isn’t about the weight. If you’re unhappy it has nothing to do with your weight. Weight does not define health and it certainly should not dictate your mood or happiness. The misconception that it does all comes back to diet culture. It has never been about the weight, it’s all about selling the next best thing- diet, cleanse, supplement, whatever they can profit off of. Are you letting a number on the scale dictate your mood? I’ve been there. I once only cared about being skinny and at the cost of my mental and physical health, altho I would never admit that. “I’m just really healthy” – Me telling everyone (Who even asked? And who gives a shit?) After I saw through my own bullshit. I started caring a whole lot more about my health than just losing weight. What do I care about now? Having a robust metabolism and thyroid as seen through pulses and temps. A strong digestive system free of symptoms that is able to detox and prevent illness. Having strong healthy hair, skin and nails. Having a regular menstrual cycle. Sleeping like a baby and waking up happy with energy and excitement. Being able to handle all the stressors that come my way. Having a strong, capable body that can climb mountains and allow me to see all the world had to offer. Being able to live my life exactly how I can because I feel damn good and my world does not revolve around food and the number on the scale. Undernourishing to lose weight will only leave you depleted and sicker in the end. Some of the “skinniest” people I know are actually the sickest and unhappiest people I know. It is not something to envy. I’ve said this before and I will say it again. Women are best anywhere from 15-30 lbs (shocker) heavier than their “desired “weight or the weight the world tells you that you should be. I see it every single day in my practice and I firmly believe being well-fed is far more important than trying to shed 🤙🏻
